Trust Details for Claims:

Disclaimer: *Eligibility for and the final amount of any tax credit depends on your individual income tax bracket.

Step 1: Check Registration in myIR

Log into your Inland Revenue myIR account. If the "Donation Tax Credit" account link is not visible in your main summary window, it means you must register first (applicable if you're claiming a donation tax credit for the first time in New Zealand). Navigate to the "I want to" section at the top right of the dashboard.

Step 1: Accessing I want to section in myIR summary dashboard to register

Step 5: Boost Your Gift by Re-Gifting Your Tax Credit

Instead of pocketing your refund, you can choose to re-gift your tax refund directly to the temple! In the final submission screens, you will have the option to transfer some or all of your credit. Provide the Taranaki Hindu Cultural Trust IRD number 141 230 689 to automatically redirect your rebate back into building Aotearoa's spiritual home.

💡 Key Points to Remember

  • 📅 The NZ tax year ends on March 31. You can claim donation tax credits for the past 4 years of giving.
  • 💰 If you have a tax liability due, the donation credit will offset your bill first, and any surplus is refunded directly to your nominated bank account.
  • ⏰ Most donation returns submitted via MyIR are processed by June each year for salaried individuals.
  • ❓ If you have questions about receipt copies or need a consolidated summary of your yearly donations, please reach out to the Trust at info@taranakihindus.org.
